"I Give!"

Life flows through us. When we allow ourselves to be in alignment with what life wants us to be, do, have, experience, we give freely. Are you obstructing this flow by holding onto the past or focusing on the future? Let's remind ourselves that we have a powerful connection to the source of all goodness. As a co-creator in our life story, we can learn how to give to ourselves first.

We start with ourselves because we need to be filled with peace, love and joy. Only then can we give them to others.

Here are symptoms of self giving:

  1. We know that our breathe is the most precious thing we have been given
  2. We take time for our self every day to simply be
  3. We listen to our own inner voice
  4. We embrace who we truly are
  5. We learn the spiritual laws
  6. We feel love
  7. We forgive
You are invited to a free Facebook 21 Day Challenge that will show you how to integrate Meditative Movements into your daily routine so you can experience more peace and joy this holiday season. Practice 8 Mindful Meditative Movements

You can practice the "I Give" movement. As you perform the movement, you can contemplate how you are giving to yourself. This video consists of eight movements that can easily be integrated into your daily routine.

Give them a try as all eight movements are simple yet powerful. Have fun practicing the mindful movements.

Congratulations Pat

Pat Finnegan is now teaching at Gilda's Cancer Club in Minneapolis. We met when Pat attended a free three week workshop where we show individuals how to integrate Meditative Movements into their daily routine. Because this technique can be adapted to any physical ability, it is perfect for individuals whose bodies have changed due to the cancer and their treatments.

When asked how her first class went, she responded, "In a word, it was FANTASTIC!!! I had two people, one from last week and one I recruited at the sign in desk who had arrived early for another class. I felt prepared, relaxed and I had a great time. Thank you so much, Ellie, for sharing this wonderful process with me. I love, love, love doing it!"

Tonglen Meditation - Giving and Receiving by Joan Halifax

The practice of Tonglen or Giving and Receiving is done to develop our compassion and our ability to be present for our own suffering and the suffering of others. It is also a practice of great kindness that opens up our whole being to the overwhelming presence of suffering and our strength and willingness to transform alienation into compassion through the energy of mercy and the cultivation of openness.

Tonglen is one of the richest and bravest practices that we can do. In teaching this practice for more than twenty-five years, I have been told again and again that this one practice has helped many people immeasurably in attending to their own fears around pain, suffering, dying, and loss and has given them a real basis for the joining of compassion and equanimity. Giving Kindness Meditation

Position your body in ease. As you align your body, so too align your thoughts so you are at ease. We recommend closing your eyes. Now focus your attention on your breathe. Notice the gentleness in your breathe.

Breathe in. As you breathe out, repeat to yourself, "May I be joyful."

Breathe in. As you breathe out, say to yourself, "May I know love."

Breathe in. As you breathe out, say to yourself, "May I feel abundance."
