    Welcome to the Power of Positive Workouts e-Newsletter. This edition's affirmation is "I dream".   While visiting the University of Minnesota Landscape Arboretum, I saw a garden of dahlia flowers and I felt in awe of nature's beauty. The colors of the flowers were vibrant and each one was unique and incredibly intricate. That evening I dreamt of a gentle rain fall and the people were holding umbrellas made out of the top of those same dahlia flowers. When I awoke I felt elated and supported. It was fun to realize that my daytime experience showered me with a calming night time dream.

   We dream at night and day dream during our waking hours. I repeat the "I dream" affirmation to remind myself that life is full of possibilities and that my waking dreams can become my reality. I plant the seeds of my dreams and believe that all of them will blossom with the proper nourishment and care.

   My program offers you ways to affirm yourself so that your dreams are honored and realized. The Meditative Movements book offers cardio, strengthening, yoga flexibility and balance movements. The Power of Positive Aerobics DVD is a 30-minute cardio exercise that has three different workout levels making it suitable for all fitness abilities. I Dream Movement

   

Standing with your feet hip width apart, clasp your hands together at chest level. Inhale and then as you are exhaling say "I dream" as you bring your arms out to your side. Open your hand and stretch your fingers. Repeat as needed.

This is a fun, interactive, informative class that you attend by using your own telephone and computer. You will learn how to perform 10 Meditative Movements in the comforts of your own home. Staying Motivated

   Remember that at times you may get discouraged because you aren't seeing results fast enough. Here are some tips.

  1. Honor who you are and what you need; it’s then that your best self will be present for those with whom you interact and who depend on your strength. It can be easier to focus on others; but remember, you are the only person you can control and change.
  2. Start small. If exercise is new to you, you could choose to do only the warm-up and relaxation sections to establish your workout routine. The most important thing is that you enjoy your movement time.
  3. Consider setting aside a time to feel the emotions you may be experiencing, such as being discouraged, feeling hopelessness, feeling unloved, or self-pity. I recommend that you set a timer for a few minutes, feel the emotion(s) fully, and then, when the timer goes off move on.

Business Highlight - Vintage Porch

   When we experience joy, we want to capture those memories. I actually went back to the Arboretum to take the pictures of the flowers because I wanted to be able to recall their beauty. Scrapbooking is a perfect way to relive your joyful memories by organizing your pictures. When I visited the Vintage Porch I saw that this quaint home could offer a wonderful setting where you and your friends can spend time together making scrapbooks or for any group events.

   Located just south of the Twin Cities, this Minnesota classic home was built in 1910 by Thomas and Susan Nickolay. The Nickolay’s immigrated to Minnesota from Luxembourg and reared five children in the home. In 1965, the home was bought by Edward & Agnes Klein. The Klein's lived in the house for 41 years and reared ten children in it. In 2005, Brian and Carrie (Klein) Unze were inspired with an idea to continue to preserve fond memories in this timeless house. Vintage Porch now offers you the opportunity to utilize this historic space for your own gathering needs.
